3rd SIRC Charity Golf Tournament
PRESS RELEASE

The third Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Centre charity golf tournament was held on 19th November 2005, on a sunny Saturday at the Gokarna golf resort. The event was observed by golfers as well as non golfers. This event was mainly organized with the objective of raising fund for SIRC, as well as a token of respect to the victims of spinal injury.

Tashi Lobsang won the running trophy of crystal glass designed by artist Bilas Rai which was crafted in Dubai. The match was played at stable ford 7/8 handicap format. Tashi scored 38 points and took the lead against Bijay Bahadur Shrestha by two points.

Harish Gorisia, and Kesang Lama were able to grab the best gross and ladies winner awards respectively. Maj DB Rai got the senior player award while Rupak got "closest to the pin". Tashi Ghale won the prize for most birdies; while Niraj Rana won the prize for "longest drive" the best sportsmanship award went to Tsewabg Zarotsang.

Besides the golf tournament, a raffle draw was one of the main activities of the day. Approximately 5000 tickets that were sold, out of which the first prize, a microwave oven sponsored by IFB was won by Mr. Kunda Dixit. Multiple other raffle prizes where won by many other people.
