Ghale claims “SIRC charity Golf Tournament”
Tashi Ghale showed superb golfing skills to capture 4th SIRC
charity golf tournament played today at picturesque par 72,
Le Meridien Kathmandu - Gokarna Forest Golf Resort & Spa.
Tashi birdied holes 3, 7 and 11 and dropped a shot on 1 and
12 to accumulate 1 under gross score for 39 stableford points.
The member of the Asian squad for golf was very confident
with his swing and made very little mistakes. Tashi’s
closest contender Tsultrim Lama was one shot behind and had
to satisfy with the second place, playing with 7 handicap
(allowance) made 3 birdies on hole 2, 12 and 13 but dropped
shots on 1,6,8,10,11,14,15 and 17.
Raj Pradhan also played brilliantly to capture the best gross
award by scoring one over par (35 gross points) with 5 birdies
on the day.
Eu Hazur Thapa won the ladies Category with 32 stableford
points and Puspa Rai came second with 29.
Tashi Tsering, Tashi Ghale and RM Sherchan got Closest to
the pin, Longest Drive & Sportsmanship Award respectively.
Directors of SIRC, Prachanda B Shrestha, Tashi Jangbu Sherpa
and Dr Anil Shrestha gave away the prizes to the winners.
Esha Thapa Director of the Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Center
spoke on the occasion to thank all the sponsors. The tournament
was organized for the benefit of the spinally injured of Nepal.
