Mr. Bharat Karki a residence of Ramechhap became a paraplegic with Traumatic fracture and a dislocation of T12 after being buried by landslide while working on a road construction project on 1st June 2010. He was rescued and taken to Dhulikhel Hospital where he was surgically managed and referred to us on 29th july 2010.Mr Karki lived with his family with his two son and two daughters and his wife. He was a sole bread winner in his family.
He was very depressed and worried about his future, with lots of efforts from our counselor and psychologist he was found little motivated and he learnt making candles with support of our vocational training department. He was also provided wheelchair and was taught wheelchair skills and maintenance care.
He was provided charity, considering his financial situation. Mr karki attended all the rehabilitation courses very sincerely and was more motivated. He was discharged on 29th December 2010.
Bharat is currently taking care of his children, looking after his home and his wife is working same as bharat used to work before injury.

Biru Magar was surgically managed at Nepal orthopaedic Hospital and refereed to us on 12th March 2011. While on admission at SIRC, he was so depressed, had pressure sores and Urinary tract infection.
Biru was brought here from the guy for whom he was painting the wall, but he never intended to make a follow up despite of our effort to contact him.
He was provided different counselling classes our peer counsellor triend lot to boost up his enthusiasm. He attended the physiotherapy, Occupational therapy, Wheelchair skills test very interestingly.
He was also provided vocational training to make the candle. Finally Biru accepted his new physical condition, new life and was discharged from SIRC on August 10, 2010.
He is currently running a tea and VCD shop in a mobile rickshaw and being helped by his wife. He is in regular touch with our peer counsellors.

Radhika was admitted to the centre on 11/2/2002. After the accident she had stayed home for nearly five years. She was admitted in a weak condition, and could barely move her limbs. While she had bladder and bowel sensation, she did not have control. At that time, she could not sit, whereas now she can walk with the help of a walker. She can write and has best utilized her capability to do so. She writes good poems and also sings, and wants her own tunes for her poems.She plans to make a music album in the near future. Also, her poems have been published in Himal Magazines.

Cause of Injury : Fall from tree
Bimala Rai was five months pregnant when her accident occurred, but did not realize she had been pregnant until she suffered a miscarriage. She was unable to walk for 28 days before she was admitted to Solu hospital, where she was put under complete bed rest and then referred to the centre. She was admitted here on 5/25/2005. While at the centre, Bimala received treatment for pressure sores, as well as sewing training. When discharged, she was able to move around in a wheelchair and was given a sewing machine, with which she could sew clothes and earn a living.
